BARRETT-Andrew J. Barrett, age 87, of Aiken, formerly of Warrenville, S.C., son of the late James Barrett and the late Ora Irene Jackson Barrett, entered into rest on Saturday, April 23, 2016. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ben Parrott and Beverly and Johnny Hodson both of Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Parrott, Andrea (Derrick) Haltiwanger and Jared McLendon; great grandchildren, Grant and Grayson Parrott, Addison and Anna Haltiwanger; a very special niece, Jan Moore; special nephews, Carlton and Steve Wilson and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Willie Mae Wilson and brothers, J. O. Barrett and Odell Barrett and his wifes, Margaret L. Barrett and Joyce B. Barrett. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama, but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a loving, caring, precious daddy, granddaddy and uncle. He loved his family and grandchildren with all his heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he always like to attend all their sporting activities when possible. He was a Boy Scout leader for years. He had a winning personality, and he never met a stranger. He just loved people. He was also an outdoorsman, as he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening; especially working with flowers. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 87 precious years that God granted him on this earth. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A service, celebrating his life, will be held on his Birthday, at Christian Heritage Church on Tuesday, April 26, 2026 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Phillips and Rev. Jody Padgett officiating. The interment will follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Carlton Wilson, Jason Moore, Branson Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Marshall Johnson and John Hodson, Jr. The family will receive friends at the Church from 2:00 PM until 4:00 (the hour of service). Friends may also call at the home of his daughter, Joan in Aiken. The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the nurses, CNA’s and staff at Anchor Health and Rehab Center in Aiken for the wonderful care and love which they extended to their loved one during his time there. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to Christian Heritage, 285 Ascauga Lake Rd., Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
