Annie knight Doscher

December 31, 1969 — October 15, 2015

DOSCHER-Mrs. Annie Knight Doscher, age 92, of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late Henry C. Doscher and daughter of the late Joseph Wade Knight and the late Gracie Tompkins Knight, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marie Doscher (Lee) Willing of Aiken, S.C.; a granddaughter, Ashley Willing; a grandson, Andrew Willing and great-grandson, Grant Lee Willing. Her nephew, Joe Knight, held a special place in her heart and was faithful in visiting and caring for her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Doscher, a grandson, Matthew Willing and brothers, Bill Knight, Ray Knight and Lamar Knight. She was born in Treutlen County, Georgia. Her parents moved to the local area to work for Graniteville Company when she was just two years old. She married the love of her life, Henry C. Doscher, in 1943 and was married for 37 years. Ann, as she was fondly known by her family and friends, was a homemaker until she obtained her LPN License in 1961. She worked for several years at the Old Aiken County Hospital as an LPN and then retired in 1991, after working 25 years as a school nurse for the Aiken County School District. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Aiken, S.C. She enjoyed traveling with her friends for many years. She talked with very fond memories of visiting Israel and what it meant to her. She shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 92 years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her family and many friends. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Aiken Memorial Park in Aiken, S.C. with Rev. Greg Bowen officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside by 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 49 Varden Dr., Aiken, S. C. 29803.
