Billy Ray Hipsher

August 12, 1935 — June 2, 2021

Mr. Billy Ray Hipsher, 85, entered into rest surrounded by his loved ones Wednesday June 2, 2021.


Born in Artemus, KY to the late James and Jessie Hipsher, Mr. Hipsher enlisted in the United States Air Force and earned the rank of a Kentucky Colonel before becoming a Truck Driver. He was a Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Volunteer Lady’s Auxiliary, and started “Light of Hope” at Baptist Regional Medical Center before making Graniteville his home in 2004. He was devoted member of New Hope Worship Center in Grovetown, GA, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.


He his preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Hipsher; daughter, Betty Paris; and 8 brothers and sisters.


He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sheila Rae Hipsher; sons, Billy Hipsher and David Brantley; daughters, Debra Hipsher, Rita Niles, Dani Chewning and Lynn Brantley; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.


A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home in Graniteville, SC Saturday June 5, 2021 at 12 P.M. with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Reagan Sommers to officiate. The burial will follow at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery.
