Dorothy Mathis Turner

June 30, 1942 — May 2, 2019

Dorothy Mathis Turner, age 76, of Vaucluse, S.C., loving wife for 59 years to Robert H. Turner and daughter of the late Monroe Mathis and the late Lillian Nichols Mathis, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, May 2, 2019. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons; Michael Turner, Johnny Turner and Kenneth Turner; daughters, Wanda Turner and Angela Lawrence; brothers, Thomas Mathis and Larry Mathis; sisters, Shirley Floyd, Betty Weatherton and Janice Barton; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Hudson Turner; a daughter, Elizabeth Turner and two brothers, William and Frank Mathis. She was born in Kings Mountain, N. C. but has been a lifelong resident of Vaucluse, S.C. She was a member of University Parkway Church of God in Aiken, S.C. She was a loving, housewife, mother, grandmother and friend. She shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 76 years that God granted her on this earth. Death is not the end for her, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly Home, where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Henry D. Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at the Vaucluse Cemetery in Vaucluse, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Christopher Turner, Gerald Davis, Jeremy Turner, Michael Lawrence, Austin Isenhour, Michael Turner, Jr. and Kevin Turner.  Napier Funeral Home 315 Main Street.
