Dorothy Edwards Williams

April 29, 1928 — December 23, 2018

Dorothy Edwards Williams, age 90, beloved wife of the late Ernest Williams, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 23rd, 2018 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

 She is survived by her son, Bobby Williams; daughter, Shelly Mitchum; grandchildren, Monica (Paul) Mazzell, Wesley (Beverlee) Mitchum, Angela (Joel) Knight; great grandchildren, Paul Mazzell III, Haley Mazzell, Aaron Mazzell, Jonathan Mitchum, Nathan Mitchum, Andrew Knight; sister, Mildred E. Brunson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, James Martin “Jim” and Jewell Ferguson Edwards; and brother, Herman Lyle Edwards.

Ms. Williams was a charter member of Stiefletown Baptist Church where she served as a teacher, a choir member and held many other offices over the years. Although she enjoyed all of her duties at the church, her passion was to teach children. She loved her family, her church and her country. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched in her 90 precious years on earth.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 at 3 o’clock pm in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Kelly and Dr. Buddy Holbrook officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00pm the day of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Mazzell Jr., Paul Mazzell III, Aarron Mazzell, Joel Knight, Jonathan Mitchum and Sidney Edwards.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the Stiefletown Baptist Church in Warrenville, SC.
