Evelyn Johnson Napier, age 95, beloved wife of 62 years to the late Rev. James Marvin Napier, Sr., entered into heaven on Monday April 7, 2025.
She is survived by her children, Rev. James Marvin "Jimmy" Napier, Jr. (Barbara), Miriam Napier James (Raymond), Deborah Napier Hobbs (Ronnie); grandchildren, Jason L. Napier (Liana), Jonathan E. Napier (Katie), Justin E. Napier (Maggie), Bradley A. Hobbs (Tessa), Benjamin R. Hobbs (Sarah), Brandon P. James (Roseann), Blake M. James (Sara); great grandchildren, Mia K. Napier, Lyla Napier, Walker Napier, Bennett Napier, Evan Beshel, Taylor Beshel, Caroline Hobbs, Emily Hobbs, Hannah Hobbs, Ella Hobbs, Ryne Hobbs, Hallie Hobbs, Colton James, Cash James, Marshall James, Andi and Addison James.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clotezze Friday Johnson; brothers, Ernest Johnson, Tom Johnson; twin brother, Ed Johnson; sisters, Mary Youngblood and Ethel Hatcher.
Evelyn became a Christian at age 21 and faithfully served as a Pastor's Wife for many years, and was committed to supporting many missions such as: David Jeremiah Ministries, Samaritans Purse and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. She was also a supporter of the local WOM. She was a member of Howlandville Baptist Church and the Aiken Senior Life Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched in her 95 years on earth.
A celebration of life service honoring her life and legacy will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11am at Howlandville Baptist Church with her son, Rev. James "Jimmy" Napier and Rev. James Young officiating. The interment will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening April 10, 2025 from 5-8pm at Napier Funeral Home.
Her seven grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Howlandville Baptist Church, David Jeremiah Ministries, Samaritans Purse or The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, In Memory of Evelyn Napier.
