Geneva Harris Rhoden

Mrs. Geneva Harris Rhoden entered into rest on June 20, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Benjamin F. Rhoden; parents, John and India Harris; son, Tony Rhoden; sisters, Ophelia Rysinger, Janie-Lou “Boots” Reece, Josephine “Jo” Snipes, Donnie Cook; and brothers, J.P. Harris, and Ray Harris.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra (John) Hackworth, Julie (Bill) Woodward, Linda Rhoden; sisters, Pearl Porter, Inez Blackwell; brother, Leonard Harris; sister-in-law, Evon Zuppa; grandchildren, Nicole (John Wilson) Rhoden, Katherine (Patrick) White, Chuck Krick, Amber (Brandon) Anceume, Trevor (Shannon) Woodward, Emily (Jordan) Babb; great grandson Carden Anceume; great granddaughter on the way, Davena Ann-Renee Anceume; and lots of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Mrs. Rhoden was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she volunteered working in the Kitchen on Wednesday nights for family night, working in the church nursery, the meal planning team, and the care team, all of which she took great pride in. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, camping, baking for her family, friends, and church family, bowling, and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and friends, who she loved immensely. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Vaucluse Rd. Aiken, S.C. 29801, on Thursday June 29, 2023 at 11 A.M. with Dr. Marty Baker to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers Bill Woodward, John Hackworth, Chuck Krick, Trevor Woodward, Brandon Anceume, Patrick White, John Wilson, and Jordan Babb.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Baptist Church. The family would like to thank all of the staff and friends at Shadow Oaks for their love and care for Ben and Geneva.
