Mr. George A. "Doc" Bell, age 97, entered into rest on Friday April 18, 2025 at his home in Graniteville.
He is survived by his daughter, Georgeane (Kelvin) Rowell; grandchildren, Jessica Chanclor (Michael), Joshua Rowell, Kollin Rowell (Diaisa); nieces and nephews, Joe Knight, Steve Bell, Patsy Sawyer, Linda Johnson, Sharon Handy; family friend, Andrew Randolph; and many special friends that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita H. Bell; parents, Jonathan F. and Ruby Carpenter Bell; brothers, Jack, Jesse, Sam, Walter "Skeet", Robert, Clyde, Frank, Willie, Grady, Cliff Bell; and sisters, Bessie Pearl Williams, Frances "Hanky" Knight and Annie Thompson.
Mr. Bell was an electrician at Kimberly Clark where he retired. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Bell loved to tinker with and fix things. He enjoyed working in his yard and was known for wearing is "Captain" style hats. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A funeral service honoring his life will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11am in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The interment to follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Melvin Kinard, Richard Rutland, Chris Walden, Steve Bell, Joe Taylor and Chris Sullivan.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Home Health and Gentiva Hospice for there excellent care. Also, a special thanks to Mr. Bell's caregivers; Deana Sloan, Margie Henderson, Teoishe "T" Stroman and Annette Moss.
