George Hugh Padgett Jr.

Mr. George Hugh Padgett Jr., 80, entered into rest on February 14, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Hugh Padgett Sr. and Willie Bell Hall Padgett; and brothers, Donald Padgett and Herbert Padgett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith E. Padgett; son, George H. (Michele) Padgett III; daughter, Karen R. Lee; siblings, Lois (Ladson) Wright, Jean Padgett, Tommy (Lydia) Padgett; and grandchildren, Sebastian Lee, Lily Grace Padgett, and Chole Snipes.

George was born in Aiken, S.C. and graduated from Graniteville High School in 1962. He worked as an Electrician with IBEW #1579 in Augusta, G.A. and retired after over 50 years of service. He was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville, S.C., a member of Star Lodge #99 in Graniteville, S.C. where he served as a Past Worship Master, and a member of Golden Glow Order of the Eastern Star #76 in North Augusta, S.C. where he served as a Past Patron. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and tinkering with old cars. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Padgett will be held at a later date.
