Gloria McComb Myers

December 31, 1969 — June 23, 2015

MYERS-Ms. Gloria McComb Hammond Myers, age 79, of Graniteville, S.C., daughter of the late Wesley and Ollie Reeves McComb, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. She is survived by daughters, Melody (Phil) Napier of Graniteville, S.C. and Joy Coursey of North Augusta, S.C.; a son, Rev. Roger (Jean) Hammond of Chesapeake, Va.; sisters, Margie Crouch of Oxford, AL and Gurlene Kemp of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Jonathon Hammond, David Hammond, Amy Barton, Anna Tull, Rebecca Napier and Philip Napier, Jr. and eight great grandchildren. She was born in Oxford, Alabama but has spent most of her adult life in Graniteville, S.C. She was a member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church; there she was also a member of the Faith Ladies Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Graniteville Leisure Club, the North Augusta Boating Club, where she serve as secretary for a number of years. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was an entrepreneur, talented pianist and floral designer. Her family stated that she was an encourager and prayer warrior to all. A lady of her caliber shall truly be missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 79 years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her friends and loved ones. Yes, a wise lady has passed and everyone mourns to loose such a special person and friend. Heaven is sweeter with her there. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 26th at Breezy Hill Baptist Church on Ascauga Lake Rd. in Graniteville from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing will be held at the church on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip Napier, Jr., Rev. Earl Carter and Rev. Roger Hammond officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to Breezy Hill Baptist Church Camp Fund, 612 Ascauga Lake Rd., Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
