Hazel M. Baughman

Mrs. Hazel M. Chavis Baughman, beloved wife of 65 years to the late Joel Denzil Baughman, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 15, 2023.

She is survived by her sons, Tracy Baughman, Kenneth Baughman; daughters, Tonya (Wayne) Bryant, Tabatha (Ronnie) Versch; grandchildren, Tracy (Taylor) Baughman, LaManda Thompson, Bradley (Alice) Bryant, Brandon (Kaylyn) Bryant, Justin Versch, Jessica (Tadd) Eubanks, Olivia Versch, Hailee Baughman, Laken Baughman: numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Rae Baughman.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Lena Chavis; sisters, Judy Aldrich, Essie Adams, Lena Mae Smith; brothers, Haskell Chavis and Bazil Chavis.

Mrs. Baughman was a proud member of the Beaver Creek Indians. She served in the mission field with her husband and together, they pastored several churches through the years. She was dedicated in her attendance to Victory Baptist Church. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, but most of all she was a child of God and is now in his presence.

A funeral service honoring her life and legacy will be held on Saturday June 17, 2023, at 3pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2094 Columbia HWY N. Aiken, SC 29805, with Pastor C.T. Townsend officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Bradley Bryant, Brandon Bryant, Tadd Eubanks, TJ Baughman, Justin Versch and Michael McKnight.
