PADGETT- Herbert G. Padgett, Sr., age 76, of Graniteville, S.C. loving husband for 56 years to Bobbie Jean Yaun Padgett and son of the late George Padgett, Sr. and the late Willie Bell Hall Padgett, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Herbie (Kim) Padgett, Jr. of Graniteville, S.C.; a daughter, Holly Padgett Palmer of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Lois P. (Ladd) Wright of Gloverville, S.C. and Jean Padgett of Warrenville, S.C.; brothers, George (Judy) Padgett, Jr. of Graniteville, S.C.; Tommy (Lydia) Padgett of Graniteville, S.C. and Donald (Karen) Padgett of Graniteville, S.C.; grandchildren, Spencer Palmer, Tyler Padgett, Taylor Palmer, Kristyn Padgett and Anna Kate Palmer and one great grandchild, Kaiden Palmer. He was born in Batesburg, S.C. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He started/owner of Padgett Truck Bodies. He was a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church having attended there since childhood. He was a lifetime member of Star Lodge #99 in Graniteville. In 1961 he started working and coaching with Gregg Park Dixie Youth Little League through 1977. He also started a group known as the “Lunch Buddies” that met every 2nd Tuesday of the month, as many as one hundred would meet and enjoy eating/talking old times. He was a Yankee Fan all of his life and a diehard Clemson Tiger. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his lifetime here on earth; however, he shall live on forever in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. A memorial service, celebrating his life, will be held at St. John United Methodist Church on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. The interment will be private. Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P. O.
