PARKER-Herman W. Parker, age 89, of St. John’s Towers, Augusta, Ga., beloved husband of 69 years to Esther Mae Reese Parker and son of the late Luther C. Parker and the late Mozelle Johnson Parker, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 11, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Ronnie (Brenda) Parker of Graniteville, S.C. and Don (Debbie) Parker of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Diane (Tommie) Sharpe of Trenton, S.C., five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Parker. He was born in Douglas, Georgia but was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Bath First Baptist Church. He retired from the Maintenance Dept. of Dayco and also from Seminole Mills in Clearwater, S.C. He was a US Navy Veteran, having proudly served his country during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 89 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens this Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Herb Sons officiating. The family will greet friends at the Cemetery from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials, in his honor, may be made to Bath First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 240, Bath, S.C. 29816.
