Hilda Joyce (Garrett) Stone

Ms. Hilda Joyce Garrett Stone, age 80, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday March 6, 2021.

She is survived by her son, David (Mary) Stone; daughter, Deborah (Timothy) Lawrance; grandchildren, Dude (Brandy) Swancey, Heidi (Cerinzio) Williams, Brandon (Melissa) Stone, Emily Stone, Kevin (Kelly) Stone, Amanda & Stephanie Lawrence; ten great grandchildren and 1 God daughter, Shelby Brown.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Stone, Sr.; parents, Harmond and Lessie C. Garrett; brother, Charles Garrett; and sisters, Mildred Usry, Doris Salisbury

Referred to as “Nanny”, she was loved by her grandchildren and all whose lives she was involved in. Ms. Stone worked as a weaver for the Graniteville Company for over 25 years and was a member of the Aiken Congregational Holiness Church but attended the New Holland Pentecostal Holiness Church. She will be deeply missed.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday March 11, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffery Taylor and Pastor Virgil Parson officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, March 10, 2021 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Junior Pou, Robert Pou, Doug Jackson, Josh Brown, Chad Taylor and Chris Brewer. Nick Haven will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the current pandemic, social distancing guidelines and masks will be encouraged for the visitation and funeral service.
