(Ernestine) Gregg of Graniteville, S.C. and William R. Gregg of Langley, S.C.; a sister, Faith Hughes of North Augusta, S.C.; eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. “There is a time for everything and a season for every purpose under Heaven, a time to be born and a time to die”. Hope Gregg, born 6/26/1931, met her Savior on Saturday, February 27, 2016. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends; but, she has been longing to see Him face-to-face for many years now. Her wish has not only been to see Jesus but to join the lover of her life, Jewett, and this desire has finally been granted. Her life has not ended, it’s just begun. The reunion day they are celebrating cannot be comprehended even in our greatest imagination. Hope has been a friend and adopted “momma” to many. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality. Her door was always open welcoming all who wanted to come in. The saying “she was too good for her own good” certainly applied to her; she did not know how to say “no” to anyone and many will be at a loss as to how to get along in this life without her. We have all been blessed to call her “friend”. The consolation we have is in knowing we can see her again one day. She served thirty-one years in the office of the Aiken County Treasurer and thirty-five years as secretary and treasurer of Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also served as organist and assistant pianist of the church as well as being a member of the Ladies Bible Class, Women’s Ministry and Senior Saints. A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held at Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church in Gloverville, S.C. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 4:30 PM with Rev. Ben Edwards and Rev. Eder Herrara officiating. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery in Langley, S.C. The Pallbearers will be James Davis, Ronald Mitchell, Cecil Goff, Dale Davis, Johnny Turner and Dennis Jones. Mack Hutto, John Nettles, Terry Keenan and John Hall will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, March 1st from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to Goverville Pentecostal Holiness Church , 188 School St., Gloverville, S.C. 29828. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You can visit the online guest register by logging on to www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com.
