Hoyt L Burkett

May 27, 1934 — May 12, 2010

BURKETT-Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, Mr. Hoyt L. Burkett, age 75 of Graniteville, S. C., husband of the late Messette Cushman Burkett and son of the late Wilmer Burkett and the late Addie Rodgers Burkett. He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S. C. He was a retired Warehouse Clerk with Graniteville Company. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Graniteville. He was a US Army Veteran. Hoyt was truly a “Southern Gentleman”. He was friendly, kind and caring about his fellowman, and he never met a stranger. He will surely be missed by his family and friends; especially his friends, Sammie and Glenda Napier, who always enjoyed talking to and visiting with him when their time permitted. Life for Hoyt has not ended; just only begun in a better land, where he is finally home with his wife, Messette. A celebration of his life service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Puckett officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Friday, May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials, in Hoyt’s memory, may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 276, Graniteville, S. C. 29829. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S. C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You can visit the online guest register at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com
