Jack D. Hutto

November 3, 1936 — May 15, 2017

Jack Delano Hutto, known to many as “Gran Gran,”, age 80, of Aiken, SC entered peacefully into rest at his home May 15, 2017 and was welcomed with open arms by his beloved granddaughter, Kaley Alexis Hutto, after a weekend surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Byrd Hutto, sons; Larry D. (Patty) Hutto, Charles (Shannon) Taylor, Michael (Gina) Hutto, and Nicholas (Krystal) Hutto, daughter; Cindy (Steve) Caine, brothers; Terry (Jean) Hutto, and Dennis (Christine) Hutto, one sister; Betty (Jimmy) Edward, and thirteen grandchildren. Born in Blackville, SC, Jack was a son of the late Horry Luther Hutto and Hattie Kathryn Miles Hutto. In addition to his parents and granddaughter Kaley, he is preceded in death by his brother; Horry Hutto Jr., and sisters; Sylvian Baxley and Carolyn Lovett. He spent 20 years with PET Dairy Co. in Aiken County and before retiring, spent his remaining working years as a Rad Tech with Chem-Nuclear Systems, LLC out of Barnwell, SC. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling bad jokes that somehow always made you laugh, watching sports (especially watching his grandchildren play), loved his hometown church and all things Clemson University. His sense of humor and hilarious “Hutto wit” as well as his love for his family and Clemson athletics will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday May 19th, 2017 at the Aiken Congregational Holiness Church on Park Avenue in Aiken SC at 11 o’clock am with the Rev. Jeffrey Taylor officiating. The interment will follow at the Blackville Cemetery in Blackville SC at 1 o’clock pm. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening May 18th, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm at Napier Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be; Brad Harrelson, Donnie Wakefield, Robert Breeden, Stephen Schultz, Josh Herring, and Chris McCarthy. Napier Funeral Home, Inc. 315 Main Street.
