James L. "Jimmy" Bryant

James “Jimmy” Bryant, age 69, died peacefully at his sister’s home, surrounded by friends and family on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 following a brief illness. Jimmy was born on May 7th, 1948 in Aiken SC. He was the son of the late Luther and Magdalene Spires Bryant. He was very proud of his Vaucluse heritage. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired from the City of Aiken after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Christian Heritage Church for over 25 years, where he devoted himself to serving the Lord by serving others. He loved to travel, but his favorite past time was cruising with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patty Beard Bryant; his daughter and son (in law) Jayme and Brad Wilson; his sister and brother in law Chris and Clyde Harkins; brothers in law, Dennis and Valeria Beard, Eddie and Sandra Beard; sister in law Marion and Joey Lynn; the most loyal friends anyone would ever have, Tommy and Pat McElveen; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. The visitation will be Tuesday evening, May 1st, 2018 from 5-7pm at Christian Heritage Church. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 at 2 o’clock pm at the church with Pastors Stephen Phillips, Jonathan Randall, Jody Padgett and Austin Scott officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Warrenville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Bruce Meyers, Joe Arico, Mike Rowland, Johnny Hodson, Bill Scott, Ray Bentley, Ronnie Maxwell, Mac McCord, and Edward Grealish. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Graniteville Rocks Traveling Buddies. The family will also receive friends at the home of Mr. Bryants sister. Memorials can be made to Christian Heritage Church Youth Aflame (Po Box 237 Graniteville SC, 29829) or Children’s Place (310 Barnwell Ave. NE Aiken SC, 29801).
