FIELDS-James M. Fields, age 70, of Graniteville, S.C., son of Irene Robinson Hutchinson and the late Henry Fields, Jr, entered into rest at his residence on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. In addition to his mother, he is survived by sons, James “Jimmy” Fields, Jr. of Florida, Russell Fields of Wilmington, N.C., Brian Fields of Graniteville, S.C. and Kevin Fields of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Jewell Weeks of Trenton, S.C. and seven grandchildren. He was born in and was a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. During his working years, he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the S.C. Forrest Commission. He was of the Baptist Faith. His family stated that he loved tinkering with small engines. He was quite a master musician as he could play any and all instruments. He especially loved to play and listen to bluegrass music. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 70 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Rev. David Barton officiating. The interment will follow at the Fields Family Cemetery in Graniteville, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Kevin, Brian, Russell and Jimmy Fields, Luke Williams, Chris Fields and Michael Weeks. Memorials may be made to the Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Road, Aiken, S.C. 29801. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
