James "Jimmy" Olin Jay

Mr. James “Jimmy” Olin Jay, 74, entered into rest on Friday February 16, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Evelyn Jay; daughter, Marjorie Rushton; and brother, Steven Jay.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Jay; sons, Bradley (Becky) Jay, Dean (Tami) Jay; sisters, Brenda (Ken) Randall, Kathy (William) Fields; son-in-law, Mark Rushton; grandchildren, Dean (Nichole) Jay, Matt (Christy) Jay, Evan Jay, Owen Jay, Corrine Rushton, Charity Rushton; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was a member of Souls Harvest Church and enjoyed gospel music, westerns, and television based on true events. He retired as an electrician from Avondale Mills and Dayco. He was a good man of great character, and a true friend to those close to him. He was a hard worker, but also loved to joke around and have fun. He was a family man and loved his family dearly. He loved his family more than anything and each of them were by his side as he left this world. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

A Funeral Service, celebrating his life, will be held at Souls Harvest Church, 18699 Atomic Rd, Jackson, SC 29831, on Monday February 19, 2024 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Bradley Jay and Richard Proctor to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at Central Baptist Church Cemetery, 1652 Wire Rd, Aiken, SC 29805. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Dean Jay, Matt Jay, Evan Jay, Owen Jay, Mark Rushton, and Tony Turner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Carroll, Walter Harris, Bennie Hydrick, Ken Parks, Ronnie Tobin, and Edgar Trotter.
