Jimmie L. Mikell

MIKELL- Jimmie L. Mikell, age 80, of Warrenville, S.C., husband of the late Mary Ruth Floyd Mikell and son of the late Dan Mikell and the late Lillie Fail Cumbee, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 15, 2016. He is survived by a son, Daniel E. Mikell of Eureka, S.C.; daughters, Melinda Proctor of Gloverville, S.C. and Karen Brooks of Warrenville, S.C.; a sister, Geneva Hatcher of Warrenville, S.C.; eighteen grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Lee Mikell, Jr.; a daughter, Brenda Tardiff; a sister, Evelyn Key and brothers, Wesley and Thomas Mikell. He was born in Bath, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a dedicated member of Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church. He retired from the Augusta Chronicle as a deliverer and carrier. He was a loving and caring dad, brother, grandfather and friend. His family stated that he was very freehearted, and would help anybody who needed help, never asking for anything in return; in other words, he had a “Heart of Gold.” He has now left his family’s side to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, October 19th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held at Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bath, S.C. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bill Branch officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Jason Scarboro, Ernest Goodwin, Leslie, Wesley, Eddie and Olin Mikell.
