ADAMS-John P. Adams, age 79, of Graniteville, S.C., husband of the late Barbara New Adams and son of the late Andrew Paul Adams and the late Mary Alberta Casey Adams, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 19, 2015. He is survived by a son, Chris Adams of Ganiteville, S.C.; sisters, Ann Clark of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Martha Taylor of Jonesboro, GA.; a grandson, Jesse Adams; nieces, Jamie New and Sarah New Griffis and a nephew, Will New. He was born in Johnston, S.C. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville. During his working years, he worked in the Gregg Division of the Graniteville Company. He retired from the S.C. National Guard with 39 years of service. He was a diehard Atlanta Braves and Clemson Tiger fan. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 79 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. He has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with his Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. A service, celebrating his life, will be held at Christian Heritage Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Will New, Jesse Adams, Jody Padgett, Jonathan Randall, Jody Abney, James New and Curt Giddings.
