John David Ennis

June 25, 1948 — September 30, 2017

AIKEN- John David Ennis, age 69, of Aiken, S. C., son of the late John A. Ennis and the late Evelyn Hutto Ennis, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He is survived by a son, David S. Ennis of Augusta, Ga.; a brother, Larry (Gloria) Ennis of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Linda Prince of Warrenville, S.C. and Shirley (Mac) LaBorde of Aiken, S.C. and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carlton and Dewey Ennis. He was born in and was a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was of the Baptist Faith. His family stated that he was a workaholic. He was a well-known tree surgeon, having owned his own business for years. In his spare time, he loved fishing and gardening. He had a great sense of humor. He was kindhearted, as he always gave more than he received. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 69 years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end for him as he has just made that great transition to his new Heavenly home, where all is joy and peace in a land of endless tomorrows. A service celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mac Grizzard officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Ron Ennis, Shannon LaBorde, Chas LaBorde, Ricky Hutson, Chip Prince and James Ennis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening, October 5th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s foundation at Augusta University.
