John M. Youngblood, Sr.

December 5, 1925 — April 30, 2017

YOUNGBLOOD-John M. “Bill” Youngblood Sr., age 91 of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for 66 wonderful years to Mary Johnson Youngblood and son of the late Samuel Lafate Youngblood and the late Mattie Estelle Goss Youngblood, answered God’s call and went to be with his Lord and Savior on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, April 30, 2017. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, John M (Karen) Youngblood, Jr. of New Ellenton, S.C. and Ernest L. Youngblood of Aiken, S.C.; a daughter, Sue Y. (Willie) Simon; a daughter-in-law, Donna Youngblood both of Aiken, S.C.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Youngblood; seven brothers and three sisters. He was well known through the local area, as he sold insurance for Life of Virginia for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a dedicated and faithful Charter member of Couchton Baptist Church. He loved his family, his church and his church family supremely, and he would do anything he could to exemplify this love he had for all three. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 91 precious years that his God granted him on this earth. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at Couchton Baptist Church this Tuesday evening, May 2nd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held at the church on Wednesday morning, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Gary Romines, Rev. George Koon and Rev. Mayhew West officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be grandsons, Daniel Simon, Wes Simon, Jake Youngblood, Luke Youngblood, Ed Redd, Josh Wilson, Dean Whetstone, Brad Briatico and his great grandson, Braden Briatico. Memorials may be made to Couchton Baptist Church Bldg. Fund, 3171 Wagener Rd.., Aiken, S.C. 29801. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street.
