Kohan Johnson, Jr.

October 31, 1938 — May 13, 2017

JOHNSON- Kohan Johnson, Jr., age 78, of Warrenville, S.C., loving husband for 18 years to Blanche Anderson Johnson and son of the late Kohan L. Johnson, Sr. and the late Effie Mae Waters Johnson, answered God’s call and went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 13, 2017. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Duane (Belinda) Bennett of Lizella, Ga.; daughters, Revonda (Mark) Godfrey of Woodruff, S.C., Ellen Bennett of Warrenville, S.C., Cheryl (Michael) Jackson of Aiken and Diane (Russell) Deas of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Shirley Johnson (John) Trotter of Lexington, S.C.; a brother, Eugene (Daisy) Johnson of Aiken, S.C.; six grandchildren; two very special granddaughters, Autumn Hartley and Maleigha Deas and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Shead Johnson, a sister, Annie Lacola Keisler and her husband, Bud; also, by his loving fur baby, Cricket. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He worked for Stewart Builders for many years. He was a charter and lifetime member of Foxtown Buck Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 78 precious years that God granted him on this earth. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. A graveside service will be held at Earle Church of God today, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Duane Bennett and Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Jake Waters, Mitch Johnson, Martin Johnson, Mike Johnson, Jamie Hartley, Clay Plunkett, Ron Trotter and Richard Fulmer. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Godfrey, Richard Sanders, Russell Deas, Michael Jackson, Doug Gunter and Rick Trotter.
