Lonnie V Creed

August 18, 1945 — May 18, 2010

CREED-Entered into rest at his residence in Aiken, S. C. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, Mr. Lonnie Victor Creed, age 64 of Aiken, S. C., beloved husband of Sylvia Hall Creed and son of the late Lena (Willie) Alewine and the late Lonnie W. Creed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Joey Patsourakos of Aiken, S. C.; grandsons, Dillon and Dalton Martin, Jacob Patsourakos, Ben and Jonathan Richards and their parents, Angie and Charlie Richards; a sister and brother-in-law, Lizzie and Alan Kneece of Graniteville, S. C.; mother-in-law, Nadine B. Hall; brother-in-law to Aggie Creed, Nancy and Kenneth Cockrell and Richard Hall. He was born in Graniteville, S. C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was loved by many nieces and nephews, and especially his loving schnauzer, Lucy. He served his Lord faithfully for many years at Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken and was presently serving at First Baptist Church in Vaucluse. Over the years, while serving his Lord, he was a member of the Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as an usher and greeter, helped in Vacation Bible School, and loved the Church’s Nursing Home Ministry that he shared with the Vaucluse men. He also served his country in the National Guards 122nd Engineering Battalion Warrenville Division. He worked for 14 years for Graniteville Company and 27 years at Kimberly Clark until he had to retire on disability in 2005. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loved all of his family. His greatest joy was his grandsons, and he loved camping and four-wheeling with them; especially at Broxton Bridge Plantation with his BBP buddies. Special thanks are never enough for the dedication and care given to him since 2006 by Dr. Shlaer and his staff of wonderful nurses in the Oncology Department at University Hospital in Augusta, during his courageous battle with cancer. Special thanks are also given for the spiritual encouragement of Alan Faulkner and to all of our family and friends who so faithfully helped and lifted us up in prayer during our difficult, but precious time. Aiken’s Divison of Trinity Hospice deserves special thanks also for the loving care he received from them. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Hagen and Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Bobby Bower, Charles Venable, Daryl Opalewski, Ralph Moseley, David Willing and Rich Mueller. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ernest Johnson Sunday School Class and Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Thursday, May 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Victor’s honor may be made to the First Baptist Church of Vaucluse, P. O. Box 26, Vaucluse, S. C. 29850.
