Margie Herron Ford

September 11, 1935 — December 26, 2022

Aiken

Mrs. Margie Herron Ford age 87, of Aiken, S.C., daughter of the late Will and Essie Herron and loving wife for 58 wonderful years to the late John Edward Ford entered into eternal rest at home on Monday, December 26 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Shealey (Michael) and Tammy Willing (Eddie); a sister, L. V. Hatfield (Coleman); grandchildren, Corey Fanning (Malone), Jonathan Fanning (Katelynn) and Bryson Shealey; Great grandchild, Mia Fanning; Step-grandchildren, Blair Grimes, and Allison Grimes (Cara);
Step-Great Grandchildren, Theodore and Avery Grimes; numerous nieces and nephews that she loved like her own.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Pansy Grover, Louise Gunter, Adie Widener, and Shirley Williamson, brother, Paul Herron and sister in Law; Joan Herron. She was born in, and was a lifelong resident, of Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C.

Margie was retired from Automatic Switch Company, and was a Training Instructor for Graniteville Company. However, Margie felt her primary life calling was to be a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend. She loved shopping, fashion, and accessorizing. She had an incredible flair for fashion and wanted to look her best no matter where she went. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who all affectionately called “MaMa”. She had a special bond with each of them and her relationship with Mia is a prime example of that: Mia called “MaMa” her best friend.

She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 87 years that God granted her on this earth. She was loving, caring, devoted, fun-loving, spunky
and sassy. Earth's loss is truly Heaven's gain.

Death does not diminish precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her loved ones. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be conducted at Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken on Friday, December 30th at 1:00 with Rev. Henry Cooper officiating. The interment will follow the service at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The Pallbearers will be Eddie Herron, Gene Herron, Jeff Herron, Robert Lockamy, David Maxwell, and David Powell. Danny Grover will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the church, December 30th (11:00am-1:00pm), 2 hours prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Transitions Hospice, Dr. Gerald Gordon, Brittany Faulkner, and Diane Johnson.
