Mary Thompson Bell

October 9, 1928 — December 7, 2018

Mary Thompson Bell, age 90, beloved wife of the late Everette Bell, went to be with her Savior on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

She is survived by her son, Allen “Pat” (Melody) Bell; daughter, Beverly Bell (Clifford) Rushton; sister, Marian Rushton; four grandchildren; Keith (Yvonne) Rushton, Kandace (James) Dean, Emmalie Bell (Jordan) Babb, and Mark David Pitts; and eight great grandchildren, Lauren Dean, Isaac Rushton, Lucas Dean, Micah Rushton, Laney Dean, Mary Rushton, John Rushton and Jaidyn Babb.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Gordon and Bessie Yonce Thompson; and sister, Maggie Mae T. Burnett. She was a faithful member of the Langley First Baptist Church for over 60 years and an employee with United Merchants for over 40 years. Ms. Bell was a 1946 graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School in Graniteville. Before her decline in health, she enjoyed working vacation bible school at her church and helping with the mission teams. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ms. Bell will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched in the 90 precious years that God granted her on this earth.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 at 2 o’clock pm in the Langley First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rich Wilson and Rev. Ken Klingler officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Langley. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 10th, 2018 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Rushton, James Dean, Mark David Pitts, Jordan Babb, Greg Cato, Ronnie Hammett and Danny Jenkins.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the Langley First Baptist Church in Memory of Ms. Bell.
