DUNCAN-Mrs. Mary Diane Derrick Duncan, age 74, of Aiken, S.C., loving wife of James M. Duncan and daughter of the late Luther Tillman Derrick, Sr. and the late Elma Louise Adams, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Daniel (Debbie) Holsomback; a daughter, Jennifer (Sam); granddaughters, Tiffanie (D. J.), Annie (Robert) and Ashley; grandsons, Noah and Danniel; eight great grandchildren, Lee, Heaven, Nicholas, Conner, Hailey, Jammie, Aiden and Shane; nephews, Brad, Billy, Timmy and Brandon; two great nephews, one great niece and a sister, Frances Marshall. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wylie Holsomback and a son, Robert Holsomback. She was born in Johnston, S.C. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was a member of Unity Holiness Church. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend who loved her family, her church family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all her heart and soul. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 74 years that God granted her on this earth. Death is not the end for Mary Diane Duncan. She has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home where all is joy and peace and no more sad goodbyes are ever spoken. Another soldier has made it home, and Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Saturday morning, May 14, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A memorial service, celebrating her life, will be held the same day at the Fountain of Living Water Church of God at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Bertie Altman and Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. The interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with the funeral expense.
