RICHARDSON-Richard “Rich” Richardson, age 77, loving husband for   51 years to Patsy “Pat” Randall Richardson and son of the late Idell and Pauline (Hair) Richardson, entered into eternal rest at his son’s residence, while under the care of home hospice services, on Friday evening, September 14, 2018. In addition to his wife, Pat, he is survived by a son, Ken (Lorie); a daughter-in-law, Amelyn; brothers, Jimmy (Connie) and Bobby (Mary); a sister, Sandra Richardson; grandchildren, Caitlin, Max, McKenna, Zander, Chase, Maddox, Mikaela, Hailey, Mackenzie and Logan; numerous nieces and nephews and treasured loved ones, Jo Harley and Cheryl Murphy. Rich was born in Aiken, S.C. He served in the US Army for two years, followed by four years of service in the US Army Reserves. Rich, in partnership with his wife, was a renowned Aiken County Florist for 45 years. He began his career in 1967 and was known as a talented florist and the owner of Richardson’s Flowers and Gifts upon his retirement in 2009. Rich will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, father and grandfather with a great sense of humor and as an avid sports fan.  In addition to his parents, Rich is preceded in death by a beloved son, Master Public Safety Officer Scott Richardson and a granddaughter, Hannah. A celebration of his life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 4:00 PM with Tim Harley officiating; assisted by Ken Middlebrooks giving the eulogy. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park. The Pallbearers will be Troy Blanton, David Harley, Jamie Jones, nephews, Gerry Owen and Randy Owen, and Nathan Wideman. Tony Craps, Loren Ivey, Richard Abney, Chris Funk, Robbie Hunt and Jeremy Hembree will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Beside the Badge, Aiken, S.C. or to the Scotty Richardson Scholarship Fund (South Aiken High School).  Napier Funeral Home 315 Main Street.
