Robert Kenneth "Ken" Screws

Mr. Robert Kenneth “Ken” Screws entered into rest August 4, 2021, after a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s disease.
Ken, as his family and friends called him, was a faithful servant for the Lord he served as Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. Giving his time for disaster relief brought him great joy and serving seniors by cutting their lawns and making wheelchair ramps was just another way he lived out the Lord’s example of serving. He retired from the United States Army after serving 28 years, with tours in Vietnam and Korea, and earning, among many awards, two Silver Stars and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry in battle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lester and Esther Watkins Screws; three sisters; two brothers; daughter, Carol Jones; great grandson, Baby Blake; and a special nephew he loved greatly, Donald Morrison.
He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 49 years, Neoma Bedenbaugh Screws; daughters, Kathy Hayes of Augusta, GA, Bobbie Jean “Peanut” (Kirk) Hammond of Naples, FL, Joanie Lindsay of Warrenville, SC; son, Max (Cheryl) Hallman of Merced, CA; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home, Saturday August 7, 2021 at 11 A.M. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Harold Herd to officiate. The burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
