Shirley Hatcher Fulmer

Shirley Hatcher Fulmer was born June 29th, 1937 to Ruby and Wilbur Hatcher and she went to heaven to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on September 6, 2022 at 85 years of age. Her parents and her two siblings, Jerry and JD Hatcher and her husband Marion Fulmer preceded her in death. She is having a joyous reunion with them today in heaven.

Shirley is survived by her son Gary, her daughter-in-law Mary Jane, her two grandsons Brett and Kevin, and her nieces Lisa Hatcher Hudson (Todd), Gwin Hatcher Morse (Larry) and Natasha Hatcher Wise.

Shirley was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sibling. Shirley and her late husband Marion were married for over 62 years and she completely adored him as he did her. She helped her husband manage his television business for decades before they retired.

She is described well in the book of Proverbs in chapter 31, verses 10- 12 and 27-31. “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than jewels. Her husband has full confidence in her. She brings him good, not harm all the days of her life. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

We are sad for her leaving us but the saints in heaven are rejoicing. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2nd Timothy, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award me on that day –and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”. That can be said of my Mother also.

A funeral service, celebrating her life, will be held 11 A.M. Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Masters to officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and the burial will follow immediately at Aiken Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent, in honor of Shirley, to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte NC 28201
