Tony Dale Cumbee

June 5, 1959 — April 10, 2021

Mr. Tony Dale Cumbee, age 61, son of the late Paul Haynes Cumbee, late birth mother Dorothy Marie Booth Cumbee, and surviving mother Peggy Jean Cumbee entered into eternal rest on April 10, 2021 at Aiken Regional Medical Center following an extended battle with COVID-19. Cumbee was born in Los Angeles, California on June 5, 1959. He was a proud graduate of Aiken High School in Aiken, South Carolina and was most recently a resident of Clearwater Village Apartments in Clearwater, South Carolina. It was there that he made many wonderful friends over the years. In 1983, at South Aiken Church of God in Aiken, Tony professed his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a devout Christian throughout his life. Cumbee was a faithful member of the Faith Holiness Church in Clearwater led by Pastor Floyd Hutto. There he enjoyed fellowship - ministering and volunteering his service for Christ. In addition to his love of attending church services, he also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cracking jokes, playing video games, playing card games, singing, and fishing. Some of Tony’s fondest memories were the times he was able to spend with his late “Aunt Lillie” Mae Mays - talking on the phone, watching TV, enjoying meals, and fishing anywhere they could. Tony had a witty infectious personality, and he never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed enough to know him. He is survived by his mother Peggy Cumbee of Aiken, SC; sisters Angela Woodard and Amber Cumbee of Aiken, SC; brother Michael Cumbee of Bolivar, Missouri; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the New Langley Cemetery off Chaffee Street in Langley, SC. Pastor Floyd Hutto and Cumbee’s cousins Pastor Sonya Mazzell and Richie Proctor will officiate. There will be no formal visitation. Napier Funeral Home, Inc. 315 Main Street. Graniteville, SC 29829 has been entrusted with these arrangements.
