Mrs. Virgie Bartley Shealy entered into rest Saturday, September 16, 2023, at home with her two children by her side.
Born on May 10, 1930, in Saluda, S.C., to the late Marshall “Pete” Bartley and Margaret Ruth Bartley, she was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. She retired from Graniteville Company after 33 years in the weave room in the Granite Division. Virgie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. She loved the Lord, working in the yard, cooking and going to Belk to shop for discounts. Mrs. Shealy was a devoted and loving mother.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde J. Shealy; parents, Marshall “Pete” and Margaret Ruth Bartley; daughter, Janet E. Reames; son, William J. Shealy; granddaughter, Lisa Blackmon; son-in-law, Jeff Larsen; brothers, Laurie and Marshall Bartley.
She is survived by her son, Larry C. (Lisa) Shealy; daughter, Sandra “Sandy” L. Larsen; sister, Lois Walker; son-in-law David Reames; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service, celebrating her life, will be held at the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday September 20, 2023, at 11 A.M. with Rev. Troy Murphy to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be David Reames, Keith Clerc, Jacob Clerc, Jackson Clerc, Tyler Shealy, and Colby Shealy.
The family wishes to thank Trinty Hospice of Aiken, her caregivers Lola Szasz, Lois James, and Ashley Pitts for their kind and loving care.
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
