William "Bill" Ellis Carpenter

CARPENTER-Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 22, 2010, Mr. William “Bill” Ellis Carpenter, age 79, of Aiken, S. C., loving husband of 47 years to Louise Moore Carpenter and son of the late Jesse Ellis Carpenter and the late Ruby Owens Carpenter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Jessie Carpenter Lybrand of Aiken, S. C. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken, S. C. He retired from Savannah River Site after 50 years of dedicated service. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Graniteville First Baptist Church. Bill, as he was so fondly known by his family and friends, was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was a good husband, brother and friend and shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched along the way. A graveside service, celebrating his life, will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville, S. C. with Rev. Todd Sessions officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Saturday, the day service, by 10:45 AM.
