Hodges-Mr. William E. Hodges, age 61, of Aiken, S.C., son of the late Ervin R. Hodges and the late Myrtle Deas Hodges, entered into eternal rest at Pruitt Health in Aiken, S. C. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He is survived by sons, Gene, Jr. (Kacie) Hodges of New Ellenton, S.C. and Jason Evan (Rachel) Hodges of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters, Sandra (Dennis) Altman of Fountain Inn, S.C. and Brenda Hodges of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hodges and very dear friends, Evelyn Elkins of Aiken, S.C. and Sheryl Mikell of Warrenville, S.C. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Donaldson Hodges; his stepdad, Robert Leopard; a sister, Linda Hodges and a brother, Irvin E. Hodges. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a residential painter by trade. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 61 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Friday, February 9, 2018, at which time a service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Hodges officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Macedonia Memorial Park in Canton, Georgia at 3:00 PM for the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, S. C. 29210.
