KNOWLES-William Knowles, age 85, of Gloverville, S.C., loving husband of Betty Curtis Knowles and son of the late William Ernest Knowles and the late Emma Adele Thrift Hall, entered into rest at his residence surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 1, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Don) Gibson, Marilyn (Frank) Miller and Lynn Knowles; grandchildren, Candy (Bobby) Griffin and Jason (Amber) Stokes; great grandchildren, Makenzie Griffin, Madison Griffin, Cameron Stokes and Tanner Stokes; a number of nieces and nephews and one special nephew. He was born in West Point, Ga., but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church in Graniteville, S.C. He retired from Graniteville Company as a Lab Techician with 28 years of dedicated service. He was also a mason and a member of the Horse Creek Lodge #174. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He loved his family and his church with all his heart. His family stated that he really enjoyed going to yard sales. He shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 85 years that God granted him on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Saturday evening, December 3rd from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life, will be held at Little Horse Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Derald Adams officiating. The interment with Masonic Rites will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Wayne Huff, Kenny Arthur, Chris Hamilton, Donnie Turner, Jerry Swearingen and Joey Spradley. Memorials may be made to Little Horse Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
