William Gordon "Buddy" Smith

Mr. William Gordon “Buddy” Smith entered into rest on Thursday April 13, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louise Taylor and Robert Gordon Smith; sister, Shirley T. Jones; and sister-in-law, Margaret Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vicki Smith; sons, William Matthew Smith, Dr. David Victor (Dr. Elizabeth) Foster-Smith; brother, Robert F. Smith; and grandson, Michael.

Buddy retired from the Graniteville Company as a Lab Tech after over 45 years of service. He was a devoted long-time member of Warrenville First Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon for many years. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and sitting on his porch watching the cars go by. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will remain in our hearts forever.

A Funeral Service, celebrating his life will be held on Sunday April 16, 2023, 3 P.M. at Warrenville First Baptist Church, with Pastor Walter Pym to officiate. The burial will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School class.
