Wilma Burnette Preston, age 79, of Spartanburg, S.C., wife of the late James Preston and daughter of the late James Stanley Burnette and the late Fannie Rebecca Smith Burnette, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, October 24, 2020. She is survived by her daughters; Judy (Ray) Southerland, Eva Sue (Freddie) Lisa Ann Preston and Maria (Gregg) Thompson; a sister, Bobbie Meyers; fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Edward Preston and a daughter, Brenda Kaye Preston Black. She was born in Joanna, S. C. but had spent most of her life in Spartanburg, S.C. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved and served her God for 46 years and was a dedicated member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Holiness Church in Spartanburg County, S.C. She also loved her family with all her heart, and they in turn loved her just as much. A godly woman of her caliber shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 79 precious years that God granted her on this earth. Death is not the end, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home where all is peace and joy in a land of endless tomorrows. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 3:00 PM with her son-in-law, Rev. Ray Southerland officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. The interment will follow the service at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Rodney Smith, Gregg Thompson, Tim Southerland, Wayne Driggers, Dillon Driggers and William Fields.
